Social and technological challanges require a further effort to improve the sustainability of ceramic manufacturing. This session will take stock of technological solutions and processing innovation in the silicate ceramic industry (tiles, sanitaryware, glazes, bricks, etc). A special focus will concern health and environmental issues (e.g., CO2 emissions, crystalline silica, green certificates, reduction of wastes originated during processing) and all aspects of valorization of residues as raw materials in the manufacture of ceramics.
